Restart Israel (Tree)

posted in: Israel

The “Tree of the State” is a symbolic cypress tree planted in 1948 in Degania Alef – the first Kibbutz in Israel, symbolizing the bond between people and land. The tree has grown and became a landmark by the Sea of Galilee. This is the April 29th, 2017 version of it:

In recent years, due to several dry winters, the water level of the Sea of Galilee is decreasing, so as the sanity level among the people of Israel. A week after Israel’s 70th Independence Day, the tree collapsed during a storm, exposing pretty loose roots.

On May 14th, 2018, members of the Kibbutz planted a new cypress. Here’s a photo of the young and fresh tree taken on May 21st, 2018.

May it (as well as the people of Israel) grow and prosper!
