The “Tree of the State” is a symbolic cypress tree planted in 1948 in Degania Alef – the first Kibbutz in Israel, symbolizing the bond between people and land. The tree has grown and became a landmark by the Sea of Galilee. This is the April 29th, 2017 version of it:<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n
In recent years, due to several dry winters, the water level of the Sea of Galilee is decreasing, so as the sanity level among the people of Israel. A week after Israel’s 70th Independence Day, the tree collapsed during a storm, exposing pretty loose roots.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_1_placeholder\n
